Gamayun is looking for Creatives!

Gamayun Theatre are looking for several passionate and creative designers to join our team, in order to bring to life our newest project, Hanoch Levin’s The Rubber Merchants, an ironic comedy with songs and condoms.

We are looking for Set Designer/Scenographer, Costume Designer/Maker, and Lighting Designer.

A bit about the project:

Yohanan, Bella, and Shmuel dream of all the usual things: sex, money, and love; but as they set out to get them, they discover that in order to make their dreams come true, they must inevitably take risks.

Devised and performed by an international creative ensemble, cross-cultural bridge-building is at the heart of this project. The Rubber Merchants unites in it the absurdist comedy of Israeli literature of 20th century, Ukrainian theatre tradition and British styles of performance. This is an eternal theme of tragedy of the life unlived, especially relevant and controversial in the current climate of post-lockdown confusion around and reluctance to risk exposure.

International artist-led theatre company, Gamayun Theatre, returns post-lockdown to the UK stages with a new project, written by a celebrated Israeli playwright of the 20th century, Hanoch Levin. Asya Sosis, a British theatre director of Ukrainian origin, reimagines the story as a tragic battle of dreams vs reality, with characters who, despite the irony of their lives, the old age, and even death, remain hopeful of a happily ever after.
