Hell is born inside you. And it can only be destroyed by you. But there are some who would rather let everyone be executed than admit their mistake. The story of John Proctor begins with betrayal. Deep in the forest, where a fire burns, and young women are dancing a forbidden dance, he’d escape his cold house and his cold wife into the freedom of pleasure. But what is so sweet soon turns sour, as 17-year-old Abigail Williams will not let go of Proctor come hell or high water.

What began as a simple adultery story quickly becomes a witch-hunt. Proctor, his wife and many others are thrown in jail. Everyone’s out for themselves. You can confess and be freed or keep to the truth and die.

Commissioned by the Molodyy Theatre to direct a show in English with Ukrainian actors, Anastasiya spent 3 months in Kyiv working on The Crucible with a team of extremely talented and hard-working professionals. Upon its premiere on 29 November 2018 the show became an instant success despite actors performing in a foreign language and has been moved to a bigger stage of the theatre in March 2019. It has also participated in Pro.Act Fest, an English language theatre festival in Kyiv.

It runs once a month in Kyiv National Academic Young Theatre.
